What I am feeling for Islamic

I came to Jember in July 2003, this was the first time I step on my foot in
East Java land. Bang Yoyo and Bang Deny were the people who welcome my arrival in Jember. They came to me and told me about HMI. They said HMI was different to the other organizations in Jember like, KAMI, GMNI, PMMI and others. “What the different?” I back to ask them, and they said the different was the tolerance of HMI to its members. “What the tolerance?” I back again. They replied, HMI accepts all the people to be its member as long as his identity card is Moslem. So what kind of Moslem you have, HMI would accepts you. Yup! This was the memory inserted in my mind at the first time I found HMI. Activist M. Dawam Rahardjo (Alumnus Islamic Students Association UGM) also said “tolerance is a key to peace, brotherhood and progress”. Tolerance will not weaken our own belief, it will instead encourage us to understand and accept others.

Now, it is nearly four years I have been processed in HMI. I feel HMI give me much thing then I imagined previously. HMI like my breath, a half of my days I spending for HMI. Experiences, trains, ordeals, sciences, suffering, and happiness I got it. No more and no less HMI look like my family. If I have to distinguish between my truly family in Lampung and my truly family in Jember, I will say “I can’t distinguish it”. No body can grow quickly without support, friends, partners, and family’s endorsement. Here is my place, here is my palace, here is my family and here is my future.

The value of Islamic Association University Student is considerable and very attractive to anyone that wants to pursue a career locally, nationally or even internationally. What the rationalization is simply, you have to do locally, nationally and then internationally. Virtually, I will say to the readers that everything should be done from low level come to high level. No instant to attain your aspiration, we have to undergo the process in other voice we can’t leave the process. Because process is our life, meanwhile goal is merely a sign of life. HMI really respect to process as basic value to be undertaken by HMI cadres, without exception for everyone.

Are HMI cadres different?. Yeah of course they are different and almost entirely different. What are the different? The different are in their personality and their thinking. Personality is a given thing such as, easy to angry, easy to work hard, humorous and others. Thinking is done by different point of view such as, I see from above, I see from under, I see from behind and others. So what something makes them same? I think the same aspiration and the same goal are enveloped by same value. Values of HMI are making them walk toward to the same direction. By this way, I asked to all cadres of HMI to stand for better life continuously get along with HMI.
